RODEC™ Ultimate Tubing Head Rotator

RODEC Ultimate Tubing Head Rotator

Inexpensive, safe, reliable and easy to install, the RODEC™ Ultimate Tubing Head Rotator will increase the life of your production tubing more than six fold.

Driven by a patented, PC pump compatible RODEC™ Auto-Turn™ Drive or by a reciprocating rod pump, the rotator works automatically to continuously rotate the tubing. The continuous slow rotation of the tubing provides optimum wear distribution.

With the RODEC Ultimate Tubing Head Rotator installed, you will experience significantly greater tubing life. Costly well service jobs and loss of production are reduced proportionately.

Automatic Continuous Operation

With the patented Auto-Turn Drive System, the rotator can be driven automatically and continuously by the rotating polished rod on a progressing cavity pump top drive system, therefore NO external electrical or hydraulic power source is required. On a reciprocating rod pump application, a pull chain and walking beam clamp are used to actuate the drive system. The Ultimate Tubing Head Rotator can also be driven manually, electrically or hydraulically if desired. The number of rotations per day is dependent on the type of drive system installed. The continuous slow rotation of the tubing provides optimum wear distribution.

  • Extend tubing life
  • Reduce costly well servicing
  • Avoid lost production
  • Installs on all pumping well applications

Slip Clutch Torque Control

The RODEC™ Slip Clutch feature prevents the tubing from being over-torqued. The clutch will make an audible clicking noise to indicate that the tubing has become stuck or sanded in. The clutch does not require any field service, resetting or repinning after use.

Rigid, Compact, & Simple

The Ultimate Tubing Head Rotator, complete with lockdown screws and side outlets, is a FIXED component of the wellhead. Tubing rotator components are contained within the tubing head. The tubing rotator adds NO additional height to the wellhead. The rotating tubing hanger is landed in the tubing head rotator and replaces the need for a conventional tubing hanger.

Safe, Standard Well Servicing Procedures

Installation of the RODEC Ultimate Tubing Head Rotator is simple and safe. It remains in place during well servicing with the service BOP installed on top of the rotator. BOP installation and pressure testing follow standard API and ARP procedures. The rotator drive system remains in place during well servicing so that the rotating tubing hanger is automatically locked for screwing the pickup joint in or out, NO locking keys or pins are required. Tubing rotator spool bore and rotating tubing hanger diameters are in accordance with API specifications. The tubing rotator spool bore is full opening and allows for running all down-hole tools. The rotating tubing hanger can be pulled through the service BOP and allows for snubbing procedures. Installation can be done by the service rig crew with no special tools or wellhead modifications. All models are supplied crated with all of the necessary hardware for a complete installation.
